Projects include a carriage house / stable, laundry and added bedroom ( Mrs. Wright's room). Traces are in poor and fragile condition, linen drawings are in relatively good shape. Nice pencil on trace and ink on linen sketch of the house. 2012 exhibit text: Strawberry Hill by Rotch and Tilden, 1889 Alterations by Fred L. Savage Bar Harbor, ME, ca 1901 Pencil on paper and ink on linen Savage designed many alterations for cottages even though he was not the original architect. This fine pencil sketch shows a small addition to Strawberry Hill, which was translated into an ink on linen presentation for a more permanent record of the project. Note the approval by the town inspector, Milton Stratton, Savage's only partner. This home was destroyed in the fire of 1947. [show more] |
