Letters range from 1951-1953 and were written by students at Eastern prep schools (primarily males) who summered in Bar Harbor to Charlotte Thorne a student at school in Bedford, NY. The majority of the letters were written by someone named "Gill, presumably Gil Mallinckrodt, and someone named "Pete Palmer". Letters and one newspaper clipping are marked 002.42.1a-x.
