Keeper's log for the lighthouse on Bear Island from January 1, 1877 to December 31, 1878, as recorded by Stephen Smallidge. Records the times of lighting and extinguishing, quantity of oil consumed, inches of wick expended, and remarks on the weather for each day of each month during the two-year period.
