Description: Handkerchief box: Wooden box covered with paper which was once red with black trim. Inside is lined with blue paper. Fabric hinges. Box lid is marked, “Handkerchiefs”. Inside of box are two items. One is a hand lettered card, faded, ink.. reading; R.L. Somes, Boston. the other is a small handmade paper and cardborad box.
Description: S. O. Richardson's Somesville Brass Band box , for carrying sheets of music and music clip. May have belonged to Samuel Osgood Richardson (1842-1910). Some of the sheets of music are handwritten, others printed. Brown and gold decorated box lined with blue fabric. Per Raymond Strout, came from Kittredge family house in Somesville (7/28/11, AB)
Description: Silk drawstring bag for knitting or other purpose. May have been used as bag for use with a formal dress. Eggshell color. Fabric has embellished floral pattern with handstitched crewel embroidery trim. Two small metal fabric covered wheels complete the drawn bag.
Description: Woven brown, tan, reds, black. Bottom leather. Top trimmed with leather and leather straps. Leather handle. Lined with tan and blue striped fabric. Donor info - belonged to Capt. Nathaniel Bracket. Carried on his vessel. Later owned by his son Frederick Bracket the mail carrier of Otisfield, Maine. Used to carry mail. Marked, “FBP Otisfield, Maine”.
Description: Round brown and olive grass and wood basket with flax thread inside. Braided handle lays flat on top. Note found inside read, “from McAllister house”.
Description: Light blue box marked, “Dempsey & Carroll, Union Square NY. Retail Dept.”. Pouch small brown with green, red and gold diamonds. Blue draw string closes pouch. Probably either a jewel or perfume bottle pouch.
Description: Hand blown bottle with recessed bottom. Rim around top of neck, slightly imperfect. Thick glass. Bubbles in glass. Some scratches on surface. Donor info - found in attic of old house (c 1758) in Lamoine.
Description: This transparent glass bottle is 4 inches tall and has a circumference of 5 inches. Without the stopper, the bottle is 3 and a half inches tall. The bottle has Dupont's Parfum imprinted on it.
Description: This clear glass bottle has the letters The Bayer Company, Inc written vertically on the sides. It is 2 and three quarters high and has a circumference of 4 and a quarter inches. The bottle is missing a top and has some dark stains on one side.
Description: This old glass bottle is 3 and three quarters high. There is no top. The circumference is about 5 inches. The neck is curved but the rest of the bottle is rectangular in shape. The base is 1 and a half inches by three quarters of an inch. It is transparent but the glass has a light green tint. Going up on one side is "3 -in- one oil co." and "Three In One" on the other side.
Description: This brown bottle has part of a label on it. The remaining letters in the title of the label are: YDE MERCK . Under this appears RMALDEHYDE). In the upper right hand corner of the label is written: S-.3643. The directions on the label instruct the user on how to handle formaldehyde. The shape of the bottle is round.
Description: This small glass bottle has a light green hue with a frosted look. It is translucent. The top is missing. It is 4 inches high and 3 inches round. It doesn't stand up straight by itself.
