There is also a CD in the binder labeled MDIHS. No indication who compiled this or why. Title on outside of binder, "Mound Desert Island Historical Society Photo Collection."

Stud for affixing bayonet under muzzle. Visitor info - Springfield Service Rifle, made in Harper’s Ferry. Standard infantry arm. Designed as smoothbores, many were later rifled. Many saw use in early months of Civil War. This piece may be a Mexican War piece, or may be a relic from Bloodless Aroostook War. [show more]
Description: Two long pieces of wood, perpendicular, separated by two shorter pieces at each end. To bar lifts to put cows head inside. Chains on each side attach to stall door. Device keeps cows in stall without door. Buckle holds bar closed.
Description: Clock made by “Boardman and Wells - Forestville, Conn.”. Label inside glass shows eagle with “E Plurubus Unum”. Also marked, “Improved clocks manufactured and sold by Boardman and Wells, Bristol, Conn. Case Tiffany and Co, Printers - Hartford”. Label gives directions to set clock. Glass not original. Probably had reverse painting on glass. Clock face is painted on wood. White in center with strawberries. Gold in corners. “Pillars” carved on each side of clock. Dark wood. Missing weight. The works are still intact. Donor info- came from Gilley house on Baker’s Island. This house was built by William Gilley in 1812. Clock was given to donor by his grandmother, Phoebe Gilley Stanley.
