Description: Drinking glass with decorative engraving, including "Emma 1912 by Peter Kaulfuss" and a bird and palm fronds. Inscription suggests this glass was engraved by Peter Kaulfuss, an European immigrant who arrived in the U.S. in 1841 and ran an engraving shop in Saratoga, New York until the early twentieth century. Kaulfuss engraved forest scenes, deer, and buildings on his work. He also had booths at major fairs and expositions. He later engraved for the Corning Glass Works and Tiffany & Co.
