Unclear who is writing this.

Gift of donor by the children of Philadelphia in 1919. Named Maria Giulia in honor of Mrs. Girolamo Vitelli of NE Harbor. Case made by Lester Hartford. Description: Book of sewing samples made by Emily N. Phillips (Reynolds) during a course at a Boston dressmaker's school about 1910. Contains samples of her stitchery and cutting.
Description: Emilie Clarissa Meynell Somes outside dark building with covered porch and lattice work around porch. Wears dark suit with bow tie, holds derby in hand. Wears long dark coat over dark dress, with elaborate collar. Hat with large feather in top. Wears wire rim spectacles. Marked on back, “Apr. 17, 1910” Picture badly torn in center. Very brittle.
Description: Drinking glass with decorative engraving, including "Emma 1912 by Peter Kaulfuss" and a bird and palm fronds. Inscription suggests this glass was engraved by Peter Kaulfuss, an European immigrant who arrived in the U.S. in 1841 and ran an engraving shop in Saratoga, New York until the early twentieth century. Kaulfuss engraved forest scenes, deer, and buildings on his work. He also had booths at major fairs and expositions. He later engraved for the Corning Glass Works and Tiffany & Co. Description: Studio portrait of young woman in formal gown. Photo is from almost ankles up. Woman has curly dark hair, probably pulled back, though it could be worn short. Gown looks to be silk, short sleeve, very low neckline, lots of embroidery, as well as lots of beaded embellishments. Woman is also wearing bracelet of some sort on her left hand. Also lots of tucks at the back of dress, not really bustle, but lots of gathering of material. Inscription below photo on mount reads, in handwriting, “Estelle Holmes Morrison.” [show more]
