A button is attached to another page of paper with this note: " Button from "Longfellows chair' made from 'the spreading chestnut tree' of which he speaks of in his poem 'the village blacksmith' and presented him by the children. His favorite chair in which I sat the day of our visit to the House in Cambridge March 14, 1891. Sat P.M. Mr. R. __ Kennedy, Edith & I a great day --
