Title:
Schooner Lois Cullison Mercantile
Description:
Paul Stubing indicated that this is picture of "Lois Cullison Mercantile" an old boat - 1930's. Paul went on to say that this schooner was "part of a dude fleet, that is, someone not familiar with what he's practicing". When asked what that meant, Paul added, "an old boat - too tender to do anything - part of the SW Harbor's tourist fleet.
This picture shows the schooner at anchor in a harbor.
Ralph Stanley identified the background as being Camden and that this boat was part of the Camden tourist fleet rather than the Southwest Harbor's fleet.
At the time of this photo, the boat was owned by Frank Swift.
Ralph thought this boat is Lois Candage or the Eva S. Cullison. It could be that the Mercantile is in the foreground. Ralph questions that this is a Ballard photo.
