Savage's first home in Bar Harbor was Vista Cottage located on Atlantic Avenue. The design incorporated his favored gambrel roof. An awkward south elevation composition includes a projecting bay window and a curious intersection of two roof lines.

Vista Cottage remains substantially unchanged.
