On the back of the photograph Sylvia A. Grindle Gillon wrote: "One sister, Jeanette Helen Grindle Hanscome said it was 'Dress Dot Made". But I always thought it was the dress I had in the play HMS Pinafore in the Somesville (school) Play House."
