Description: Floor plans (foundation, 1st & 2nd floors) 2012 exhibit text: Pot and Kettle Club Bar Harbor, ME, 1899 Ink on linen The Gerrish Collection, MDI Historical Society The club was commissioned in 1899. One of its founders was Edgar T. Scott for whom Savage designed alterations and a stable at his cottage, Chiltern in Bar Harbor. This rendered longitudinal section explains the concept perfectly, demonstrating clearly the concept of three basic rooms and depicts clearly the interior elevations of each space. As in a number of Savage's designs he was concerned with well executed details. He made very carefully rendered, and in many cases, full or large scale details. This drawing shows vignettes of bracket and canopy details. Notes on structure and framing are seen in red ink. [show more]
