Letter from A.G. Cooley (unclear who he/she is) but the address of AG Cooley is Indianapolis. He asks Spiker to not send any more correspondence. S/he may be an official with Inidiana Department of Welfare where Spiker has been dismissed from her job and is asking for reinstatement. Written to LaRue Spiker asking her not to send any more letters regarding her position on Stockholm Peace initiative to ban bombs. The attached letter discusses the right to speak on this matter. The petition was obtained through the Indianapolis Civil Rights Congress. Ephemera: Framed poster inviting the citizens of Mount Desert to a Republican Rally in Otter Creek on Sept. 2nd. Speakers at the rally were T.R. Simonton, Esq. and A.P. Wiswell, Esq. Probably dates to the 1880s-1890s. Every line of type is different. Fine example of a typesetter's skill. A gift to the Historical Society in honor of Louisa Kennedy. Poster dimensions: approximately 13 1/4" wide by 20" in height.
