Description:
Paul Stubing indicated that this is a photograph of Bobby Rich and his father's yard in Bass Harbor. He said that there is a man on the bow of a dragger and that the picture was taken in 1945. There is a lobster boat on the grass in the right foreground. Her identification is "1-C-494". There are planks scattered in the foreground. Two coniferous trees are on the shore behind the "cradled" lobster boat.

Paul Stubing indicated that this was a picture of the Stanley Fisheries and that the double-ender was "always" in the same point. The caption on the back reads, "Foggy Morning at Southwest Harbor, Maine - August 1941...Lighthouse Tender ILEX - Schooner Rebecca R. Douglass." There is a three-masted schooner in the center background and a vessel which looks like a freighter on the top left. There are two gulls resting on pilings in the foreground. [show more]

Paul Stubing indicated that this is a photograph of the "William Keene" taken around 1938-1940. He said it shows loading fish meal probably for the Belfast chicken farms. The caption on the back of the photograph reads, "Loading Fish Meal at Southwest Harbor, Maine. 1938-1940 . William Keene". There are two men loading. On the left side of the picture are two bags waiting to be loaded (on the makeshift bridge).

The caption on the back of this photograph reads, "Sch. William Keen at Manset, Maine. Discharging Salt. 1949." This picture shows the vessel tied up to the Stanley Fish Wharf. She has two masts and there is one man on her foredeck and another man in the rigging. There is a motor boat rigged for fishing on the left side of the picture and the farmhouse on Greenings Island is visible in the background.

Picket fence running along right side of lawn. Most shutters are open, except for two windows in middle nearest chimney. This print has been attributed to W.H.
